
MARIVELES, Bataan — A worker assigned to the seawater intake pump house of GNPower, one of the power plants operating in this town, died on Saturday (June 13) after his safety harness reportedly became entangled in a crane hoist cable, tightening around his body, authorities said.
Police identified the victim as Marko Puno, who was rushed to the Bataan Provincial Hospital and Medical Center in Balanga City but was declared dead on arrival.
Based on a police report, the accident occurred at 2:12 p.m., while the victim was working near an overhead crane. He was extricated at 4:18 p.m., although the incident was only reported to authorities at around 7:50 p.m. the same day.

The report added that immediate rescue and emergency response measures were carried out at the scene.
