Around 800 people took part in the second edition of the 10km L Istrina Palace Run on Sunday morning, helping raise funds for The Malta Community Chest Fund.
This year’s event connected San Anton Palace with the Presidential Palace in Valletta and attracted participants of all ages, from children to senior citizens, including both competitive athletes and recreational runners.
The fastest runners completed the 10km course in just over 32 minutes.
At the end of the race, all participants received a medal, while the top three finishers in each category were presented with a commemorative image of the Presidential Palace in Valletta by the President Myriam Spiteri Debono.
Addressing those present, the President thanked participants for their support and highlighted how the funds raised through the event will help patients and families who rely on assistance from The Malta Community Chest Fund.
She noted that requests for support continue to increase each year and stressed that the fund provides not only financial assistance but also social and psychological support to individuals and families facing medical challenges.
The event, which was first launched in 2025, was organised by Joe Micallef and the Malta Marathon team, with the support of volunteers and several Maltese entities, including the Police Force, Armed Forces of Malta, LESA and Transport Malta.
