PN Leader Alex Borg has announced that he will once again seek the party’s trust to continue the renewal process he says began eight months ago.
Speaking during an interview on NET TV, Borg said the general election may be over, but the Nationalist Party’s mission to build a better Malta and Gozo is only just beginning.
While acknowledging that the PN did not achieve the result it had hoped for, Borg pointed to an increase of more than 13,000 votes compared to the previous election, gains in every electoral district, victories in six districts and a return to a majority of votes in Gozo.
The PN leader also revealed plans to propose changes to the party statute that would create two Deputy Leader positions, one focused on party affairs and another dedicated to parliamentary work.
Borg said the party intends to continue modernising its structures, involving more people and strengthening its role as a credible Opposition.
He also highlighted an ongoing consultation process launched after the election, with more than 1,150 people already sharing feedback and ideas with the party.
Speaking about the road ahead, Borg said the PN remains committed to learning from the election result and continuing to build what he described as a stronger alternative for Malta’s future.
At the start of the interview, Borg also paid tribute to former PN candidate Josephine Xuereb, who passed away in recent days following a long illness.
