Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has ordered Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Perkasa Roeslani to apprise the public of progress in efforts aimed at strengthening Indonesia's investment climate.
He issued the directive during a meeting with several members of the Red and White Cabinet at his Kertanegara residence in Jakarta on Sunday night (June 14), according to a statement released Monday.
Joining Prabowo and Roeslani were Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia; Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa; Higher Education, Science, and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto; and State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi.
Head of the State-owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) Dony Oskaria and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya also attended the forum.
Wijaya said the president received a report on the outcome of the investment minister’s recent visits to the United States and several countries in Europe and Asia.
He noted that Roeslani’s overseas trips uncovered positive sentiment toward Indonesia’s investment climate, showing an upward trend in global confidence.
The favorable trend, he continued, was notably evident in strong investor enthusiasm and rising capital inflows into the country across various national strategic sectors.
President Prabowo responded to the investment briefing by stressing the need to make the information public to ensure transparency of government work and performance, Wijaya added.
According to him, the head of state promptly instructed the minister, who also serves as CEO of sovereign wealth fund Danantara, to release the “positive data” on Monday afternoon at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
He described the move as "part of the government’s commitment to providing the public with comprehensive, fact-based information."
The secretary further emphasized that such dissemination would reaffirm the president’s determination to uphold openness, transparency, and accountability in governance while building public confidence in Indonesia’s economic outlook amid evolving global dynamics.
