Nathaniel Isa, the Director of Counter and Mobilization for the campaign organization of former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, has disclosed that the ex-IGP will announce his next political move in the next few days.
The former IGP recently dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after losing the governorship primaries to Senator Aliyu Wadada who was endorsed by the state Governor.
Many of Adamu’s loyalists and supporters have since left the APC and joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Isa told Daily Trust on Sunday that he did not want to preempt his principal but confirmed that a formal announcement was imminent. “There are certain positions that our principal will be and only him can make the first pronouncement. It will be breaking news before you and other Nasarawa citizens,” he said.
Daily Trust gathered that the campaign organization, Adamu’s wife Hajiya Rukayya Adamu Abubakar, and other stakeholders are still touring the state, maintaining that “the Ex-IGP’s ambition remains a reality” despite losing to Wadada in the APC gubernatorial primary.
Isa admitted that defections are ongoing among Adamu’s loyalists. “What we observed is, most of his loyalists are defecting day by day. You have your destiny in your hands. You cannot wait for somebody to decide your destiny for you,” he stated.
He said the ex-IGP will speak to his supporters soon adding: “You are going to be among the journalists that will get the news.”
