Indonesia targets 313 public service malls nationwide by mid-year

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government announced plans to operate 313 public service malls (MPPs) nationwide by mid-2026 to improve service quality through greater integration and accessibility.

There are currently 305 MPPs across the country, with Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Minister Rini Widyantini scheduled to inaugurate eight new units in the near term, according to a statement received here on Monday.

“The inauguration of eight MPPs in the first half of 2026 serves as a manifestation of the government’s commitment to augmenting public service by simplifying processes, integrating services across sectors, and easing public access,” PANRB Ministry Deputy for Public Services Otok Kuswandaru said.

He noted that the eight new facilities are located in Indragiri Hilir District, Riau; Karimun District, Riau Islands; South Bangka District, Bangka Belitung Islands; Paser District, East Kalimantan; Tanah Bumbu and Kotabaru Districts, South Kalimantan; Tana Toraja District, South Sulawesi; and South Halmahera, North Maluku.

Kuswandaru emphasized that the MPP network expansion is expected to help strengthen synergy among ministries, state agencies, and regional governments in delivering quality public services.

He assured the public that the development is complemented by ongoing efforts to boost the quality of MPP personnel in pursuit of more effective, responsive, and inclusive services.

Elaborating further, he underlined capacity-building measures as a way to ensure that MPPs are run by officers with high levels of sensitivity and understanding of public needs, particularly those of vulnerable communities.

To support that goal, the ministry plans a series of activities promoting the role of MPPs as integrated and inclusive service centers.

One of the planned activities is a seminar on human resource development for MPP operators.

The seminar is expected to equip personnel with the skills and competencies needed to provide equal, adaptive, and responsive services tailored to the needs of all segments of society.
