
MANILA, Philippines — The death toll from last week’s magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao has climbed to 65, Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Deputy Administrator Raffy Alejandro reported in a press briefing on Monday morning. Alejandro noted that earthquake-triggered landslides and falling debris accounted for the majority of the fatalities. Meanwhile, 36 people were reported missing, and 1,400 were reported injured from the earthquake in the Davao Region and Soccsksargen, Alejandro added.
