
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday turned over P20 million to the municipality of Glan, Sarangani, for rehabilitation efforts following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao on June 8, the Presidential Communications Office said.
In addition to the funds, which came from the Socio-Civic Projects Fund, Marcos also turned over one Starlink unit to improve communication and speed up relief, recovery, and rehabilitation efforts in the province.

Marcos also personally checked on more than 100 families seeking temporary shelter at an evacuation center at the municipal plaza in Glan.

Furthermore, he witnessed the distribution of family food packs and hot meals from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) mobile kitchen, as well as 350 ChariTimba units from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
A total of 453 beneficiaries also received P5,000 each through the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations program. /mcm

HELP MINDANAO EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS
The Inquirer Foundation is calling for support for communities devastated by the recent magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao.
In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, the foundation is amplifying appeals for food, clean water and other critical assistance for affected families.
Donors may send contributions directly to the Philippine Red Cross through its official transfer channels, the complete list is available on the PRC’s Facebook page.
The Philippine Red Cross has activated its emergency fund campaign and deployed teams on the ground to provide medical services, distribute relief goods and extend psychosocial support to affected families.
