Anna Faris Details Scrutiny She Faced Over Chris Pratt Divorce in Rare Comments

Anna Faris is looking back at a difficult time in her life.

Nearly a decade after the Scary Movie 6 actress and Chris Pratt broke up, she shared rare insight into how she was doing as her nine-year marriage to the Marvel star came to an end.

"I was feeling sad," Faris, mom to their son Jack, 13,  told Variety in an interview published June 13. "I do feel like I had enough gumption, enough of a core, and I have tried to be careful about how much Hollywood infiltrates, but now I’ve been on a spectrum of fame for 26 years, so I would be naïve to think that it hasn’t shaped who I am at this point. But, f--k. The scrutiny."

The 49-year-old—who married husband Michael Barrett in 2021—expressed gratitude that she had her podcast Anna Faris is Unqualified at the time, which provided her with a built-in support system that she realized in hindsight that she really needed.

"I’m lucky that at that time I had my podcast," she said. "That goes back to the talk radio. I wanted, like, four people to listen and to build my own secret community. I wanted an avenue outside of Hollywood as a way to connect with people."

Faris went on to explain that, while she didn't necessarily talk about her personal life on the podcast—which stopped releasing new episodes in 2023—it was the safe space it represented that she really appreciated.
