Judd Apatow Says Daughter Maude Ignores His Acting Advice

This is Iris Apatow in love.

The youngest daughter of Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow enjoyed a romantic stroll with her boyfriend Sam Nivola while vacationing in Sicily June 12.

For their arm-in-arm walk among tourists in Taormina, Apatow wore a white babydoll dress, which she paired with black flats and a navy cardigan. To accessorize, she sported a black headband and orange sunglasses.

Nivola, for his part, wore a navy T-shirt and red shorts. To complete his casual look, the 22-year-old wore black flip flops, a cross-body bag and matching shades.

The pair’s love story first began after meeting through a mutual friend at a bar in London. But at the time, Apatow—who was previously linked to Kate Hudson’s son Ryder Robinson as well as photographer Henry Haber—was in a relationship.

Detailing their first interaction, Nivola—whose parents are Alessandro Nivola and Emily Mortimer—told Teen Vogue that Apatow “was not having it, which is good of her.”

But once the Tell Me Lies actress was back on the market, Nivola was able to formally shoot his shot.

And fast forward to today, the pair have created a lovely life together. Recently, Apatow took the next step in her relationship by moving in with Nivola in New York City.

“I was really happy to just move in with my boyfriend,” the California native told Nylon in an interview published April 16. “I was super happy, but I also felt lost: ‘I don’t know what’s happening and I don’t know how to use the train yet. I am just confused.’ But I settled in. I’m still getting used to it.”

And from her experience growing up in the public eye, the 23-year-old may still be getting her footing in the big city, but she knows what she wants.

“I really value my personal life,” she explained. “I live a quieter life. It’s just more important to me to have that than to have work. Because I’ve met a lot of people who sacrifice their personal lives for work and it’s gone.”

That said, Apatow likes the direction she’s headed in, both personally and professionally.

“I actually have a very good feeling about the next stage of my life,” she said, “and I think, or at least I hope, I am able to make progress into settling in somewhere.”
