Trains have resumed between Wellington and Porirua after a person ran out onto the tracks.
In an alert to passengers shortly after 6 on Tuesday morning, it warned of a "service change due to emergency services" on the Kāpiti line.
It was later confirmed a person had been out on the tracks.
"Police were called to apprehend them."

Trains were to be replaced by buses, though Metlink had warned those were not running to timetable and limited capacity was available.
Passengers were advised to seek alternate transport.
Shortly after 8am an alert was sent to passengers advising them services between Wellington Porirua had resumed "following an earlier police incident", though there were "delays due to emergency services".
Some services were still being replaced by buses.
