Iran's chief negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has praised his nation's people for their "historic resistance" in a post on X.

Vance says memorandum of understanding a 'general document'
By Hanan Dervisevic
US Vice-President JD Vance says the memorandum of understanding (MOU) that was signed with Iran is a "very general document" with the specifics of the deal to be worked out during further negotiations.
"The MOU ... is about a page and a half so it is a very general document," Vance said on CNN.
"On a number of issues, we are going to have to figure this stuff out during the technical negotiation phase."
The agreement is not an all-inclusive peace deal, but does provide a framework for ongoing negotiations on issues such as the future of Iran's nuclear program over the next 60 days, while lifting some of the war-time measures that have been imposed, such as the chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian oil tankers pass through Strait of Hormuz, state media says
By Hanan Dervisevic
Iranian state media says three oil tankers and two ships carrying essential goods have passed through the US naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.
A screenshot from MarineTraffic appears to show the Iranian bulk carrier Momentum Phonix has left Iranian shores and is heading to the western side of the strait.
The US and Iran electronically signed a ceasefire agreement yesterday that would end the war and lift the chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz.
According to US President Donald Trump, the strait is already "partially opened".
"As you know, they're doing a little hunting for a couple of mines that they've already found," he said.
"But it's essentially ships are starting to go out now. On Friday, it'll be completely opened."

By Hanan Dervisevic
Good morning and thank you for being with us as we bring you the latest news from the Middle East.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it intercepted rockets launched by Hezbollah towards their troops in southern Lebanon a short while ago.
The IDF also said Hezbollah "launched an anti-tank missile and multiple mortar shells" at troops in southern Lebanon in "several incidents".
Iran has insisted that attacks on Lebanon must stop as part of the finalised peace deal.
However, Israel's defence minister had declared his country's forces would not withdraw from territory seized and occupied during Israel's invasion of Lebanon in March.
