Travis Barker Details How Falling in Love With Kourtney Kardashian Helped Heal Past Trauma

Blink and you'll miss Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's latest date night.

The Kardashians star made a rare red carpet appearance with the Blink-182 drummer on June 13 at the Tribeca Festival premiere of his new documentary Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear.

Joined by Travis' 22-year-old son Landon Barker, the couple twinned in matching black attire. Kourtney, 47, wore a long-sleeved, button-up satin gown with a white collar—which was inspired by The Addams Family’s sultry matriarch, with Kourtney writing on her Instagram Story, "Morticia would be proud." Meanwhile, her husband of four years rocked a classic suit from Thom Browne that coordinated with Landon's all-black outfit.

At the event, Travis—who kids Landon and daughter Alabama Barker, 20, with ex-wife Shanna Moakler, as well as son Rocky Barker, 2, with Kourtney—told E! News just how special it was to have his family by his side for the momentous occasion.

“The power of love is amazing," he raved. “My kids were my strength from the time they existed."

The musician also detailed how Kourtney helped him overcome some of his deepest traumas, including the deadly 2008 plane crash that put him off from air travel for over a decade.

“Falling in love again, my wife gave me so much hope to where I ended up flying again,” said Barker, who took his first flight since the accident in 2021. "It's just insane.”

Now, Travis is no longer hindered by his emotional wounds.

“It’s gotten better the further I get away from it," the rocker told Men's Health in 2021. "The closer I was to it, it felt like I was closer to the bad stuff than I am to the good stuff."

Explaining how the harrowing experience "haunted me for a long time," Travis added,  "And as long as I was closer to that than this good stuff, I was always thinking about that. Now it’s been so many years, it’s getting easier for me. There are days where I’ll wake up and never think about it."
