
MANILA, Philippines — Fair weather is expected to prevail nationwide on Tuesday, with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms likely to develop later in the day, according to the state weather bureau.
In its latest weather briefing, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, continue to affect the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao.
“We are expecting fair weather conditions today, although there remains a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening,” Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres said.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the eaterlies are expected in Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur and Davao Oriental.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to have generally fair weather, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rainshowers later in the day.
“This weather pattern is likely to persist over the next three to five days,” Torres added.]
The state weather bureau said no gale warning has been raised over any of the country’s seaboards.
Pagasa is also not monitoring any low pressure area or tropical cyclone within or near the Philippine area of responsibility. /gsg
