NYC Mayor Mamdani Seemingly Confirms Taylor Swift Wedding Details

Welcome to New York, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding has been waitin’ for you.

And though details of the Grammy winner and NFL star’s upcoming nuptials are being kept strictly under wraps, New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani seemed to confirm that the pair’s wedding is, in fact, taking place in the city this summer.

“We are the biggest city in the country,” the politician told reporters June 15, per Page Six, detailing the city’s preparedness for the 2026 World Cup. “We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one.”

The 34-year-old added, “We know it coincides with the Knicks’ Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding—all happening at the same time—and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”

While neither Swift nor Kelce have confirmed when or where their wedding will take place, rumors abound that the ceremony will take place at New York City’s Madison Square Garden over the weekend of July 3.

The CEO of Madison Square Garden James Dolan hinted as much when he said reporters “got half of it wrong” when speculating that Swift and Kelce were given free tickets to a Knicks NBA game in exchange for renting out the venue for their wedding. As for which part was wrong? As he put it, “Travis is in a mandatory training camp” and wouldn’t be at the Finals game.

As for if Mamdani—a self-professed Swiftie—will be in attendance to see which white dress the singer picked out? He confirmed he won’t be.

“I wish them a lovely wedding,” he continued. “I’ll listen to ‘Only the Young’ at home on my own.”

A few members of Swift’s guest list, however, have shared their excitement to attend, including Suki Waterhouse, who is planning to take a few ideas from the wedding for her own nuptials with fiancé Robert Pattinson.

After all, the Daisy Jones & The Six actress told Variety last month, “Nothing is scarier than the actual planning right?”

Indeed, as Waterhouse—mom to a 2-year-old daughter with Pattinson—put it, “I’m gonna go to Taylor’s wedding, and maybe I’ll get some inspiration,” adding, “It will be amazing.”
