Teddi Mellencamp Requested GLP-1s for Weight Loss Amid Cancer Battle
Teddi Mellencamp is starting a new chapter.
The former Real Housewife of Beverly Hills—who was diagnosed in 2025 with stage four cancer following an initial stage two melanoma discovery in 2022—underwent a heartfelt hair transformation following treatment that resulted in the loss of her hair. And after she tried on a voluminous blonde wig at luxury salon The Wig Fairy, fans got to see her teary reaction to the new style.
"This is already so much more comfortable. Oh my gosh, this looks so much better. It actually looks like it's coming out of my head!" Mellencamp exclaimed in a moment captured for Instagram June 11. "I'm getting emotional. I like it so much more."
The Two Ts In A Pod podcast host even agreed the bouncy locks were better than her own natural hair, which is currently growing back after it was shaved off for surgery to remove plum-sized tumors from her brain (the tumors were discovered during an ER visit Mellencamp sought out for what she then believed were migraines).
Mellencamp—mother to Slate, 12, Cruz, 11 and Dove, 6, with ex Edwin Arroyave—seemed most excited to have the ability to style her hair in different options, like a ponytail, which she noted was "such a game-changer."
"I'm so happy," Mellencamp confessed in the salon chair while clapping her hands, later adding, "I love it so much!"
And Mellencamp's hair transformation isn’t the only update she’s given about her health this month. She also posted a patient day-in-the-life vlog shared on Instagram June 2.
“So ever since I was diagnosed with stage four cancer, I get immunotherapy monthly,” Mellencamp explained in the clip. “And I was getting CAT scans and MRIs monthly, but this past time, they decided they’re going to wait three to four months in between the test. This has created such a nervous, raging anxiety inside of me.”

While Mellencamp was anxious leading up to the appointment, she was able to share the encouraging results her doctor told her by the end of the video.
"The scans show no evidence of tumor in your body,” Mellencamp's practitioner told her. “When you came, you had tumors in your brain and in your lungs. We don’t see those now. There’s evidence that you had treatment and there’s evidence that immunotherapy has helped you.”
Receiving what the medical professional described as "the best outcome we could hope for," Mellencamp was officially declared to be in remission, a status that if sustained for three years can point to a 95 percent survival rate for patients like Mellencamp, the doctor said.
In the meantime, John Mellencamp’s daughter is spending quality time with friends like Tamra Judge and family as she recovers, like an April outing to watch her eldest competitively ride horses and celebrating her youngest's birthday.
"Last year I was in the hospital and missed Dove’s birthday party," Mellencamp wrote in a celebratory post March 1. "This year I wasn’t going to let the same thing happen. So grateful and emotional that I get to celebrate six with her."
