Cayetano-wing flood control hearing ‘will no longer proceed’ — venue

MANILA, Philippines — The supposed Senate blue ribbon committee hearing of the bloc led by Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano will not proceed, the management of the venue confirmed on Tuesday.

Former congressman Mike Defensor earlier announced that a flood control probe would proceed on Tuesday, but outside the Senate premises.

This is without the confirmation of any senators from the Cayetano wing.

“Doublegem EDSA Garden Events Place respectfully informs the public that the scheduled Blue Ribbon Committee event at our venue will no longer proceed as originally planned,” the management of the events place announced.

It also asserted independence from the organizers of the supposed hearing.

“We would also like to reiterate that Doublegem EDSA Garden Events Place has no affiliation whatsoever with the organizers, participants, or subject matter of the event,” it added. /das
