Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to join leaders at the G7 summit to discuss new ways to revive peace negotiations with Russia, which stalled as a result of the conflict in the Middle East.
On Monday, US President Donald Trump said his country would revert its diplomatic focus to Ukraine after reaching a framework deal with Iran.
"Now that this (Iran) is finished, we're going to be focusing on that (and) see if we can get that one done," Trump said next to French President Emmanuel Macron.
Zelenskyy is also keen to secure additional military support for his armed forces, in particular US-made Patriot interceptors, and increase economic pressure on Moscow.
