Students Report Receiving Unexpected Extra Stipend Payment

A number of students across Malta are reporting that an additional stipend payment has unexpectedly landed in their bank accounts today.

Speaking to Lovin Malta students said they received a second payment despite already having received their regular stipend allocation.

While no official statement has yet been issued by the authorities, the extra payment is understood to have been sent in error.

The unexpected deposit quickly sparked confusion, and excitement, among students, with many taking to social media and group chats to compare bank balances and ask whether others had received the same payment.

It remains unclear how many students were affected or whether the authorities will seek to recover the funds.
