Reports say man, 40, called cops on himself after stabbing his 84-year-old father in an apartment they shared; knife found in suspect’s possession
An elderly man was stabbed to death Tuesday in the central Israel city of Rehovot, by his own son, who called authorities and confessed to the crime, according to police.
The victim was an 84-year-old man, who was pronounced dead at the scene with multiple stab wounds, medics from the Magen David Adom emergency services said.
According to Hebrew reports, the suspect called the Magen David Adom paramedic service and confessed to the murder, telling police to come to the scene: “I stabbed my father, come.”
The police did not give a motive for the crime.
Police said officers arrested the son, aged 40, as a suspect.
