The Italian centre-left opposition on
Tuesday announced two summits of its so-called 'broad field', to
be held on two successive Wednesdays next month, July 8 and 15.
The leaders of the Democratic Party, Five Star Movement, and the
Green-Left Alliance (AVS) announced the news on social media:
Elly Schlein, Giuseppe Conte, Nicola Fratoianni, and Angelo
Bonelli:
"Get to work. To change Italy. Mark these dates: July 8 and 15.
See you soon!" The leaders wrote, posting a photo of themselves
together.
The broad field is working on a joint programme, the
prerequisite for the choice of a leader to face Premier Giorgia
Meloni in a general election currently scheduled for October
next year.
