Kate Middleton Details How Cancer Battle Impacted Prince William, Their Kids in Rare Comment
Prince George is stepping into a new chapter.
The 12-year-old son of Prince William and Kate Middleton is set to attend Eton College in September, Kensington Palace announced June 15.
The prestigious boarding school—which William and his brother Prince Harry attended as teenagers—educates boys 13 to 18 “to enable them to flourish and make a positive impact on others through the course of a healthy, happy and fulfilling life,” according to the school’s official website.
And royals aren’t the only famous faces to walk the school’s historic halls. After all, Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston are just a few stars to graduate from the all-boys school.
News of George’s milestone comes days after the royal family stepped out for the annual Trooping the Color to mark King Charles III's official birthday.
At the gathering, William and Kate waved at the massive crowds from the balcony of Buckingham palace alongside George, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, as well as Charles and Queen Camilla.
For the occasion, Kate donned a baby blue and white skirt suit, which she paired with one of her iconic statement hats. Meanwhile, William wore the Full Ceremonial Guard Order of the Welsh Guards, reflecting his senior military position in the uniform.
As for their royal kids, Charlotte donned a white dress while George and Louis wore matching navy suits.
As Kate and William head towards their next journey as parents to teenagers, the Prince of Wales revealed how he’s already gotten practice when it comes to dealing with his kids’ feelings, which he joked they talk about “sometimes too much.”

"I get all the details,” he said during a panel discussion for BBC Radio 1’s Life Hacks: Mental Health Special Feb. 18, “which I love, you know, it's amazing."
But that level of dialogue not only keeps William attuned to his children’s feelings, it also makes him want to solve their problems—an instinct the 44-year-old is trying to combat.
"You feel a sense that you need to fix it, for everyone and that I find quite difficult," William explained. "I have to remind myself that you don't need to fix everything, but you need to listen and it's important just to be OK with those feelings and those comments.”
While the dad of three acknowledged that an unhealthy approach to mental health struggles has been passed down intergenerationally, he emphasized how it’s up to parents today to teach their kids better coping skills.
“You have to talk about your emotions,” he explained. “You can’t just bottle them up and pretend they don’t exist.”
