One thing about Zendaya: She and her longtime stylist, Law Roach, are always going to deliver on a red carpet.
The pair has become known for fully committing to a theme, specifically when it comes to dressing for a film or television show’s press tour. They’ve become modern pioneers of “method dressing,” where they match Zendaya’s wardrobes on the red carpet to her projects’ themes and narratives.
From the Dune films to Challengers to the Spider-Man movies and The Drama, the actress has turned promotional opportunities into high-fashion moments with archival looks, bold outfits and designs that align with her characters.
Below, The Hollywood Reporter ranks Zendaya’s press tour styling over the years.
‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’
As Zendaya started pivoting away from Disney Channel, she scored her first Hollywood blockbuster role in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. It’s also where she met her now-husband, Tom Holland, who plays Peter Parker.
With this being her first major press tour, Zendaya still seemed to be finding her voice in fashion. Though her looks weren’t fully cohesive and aligned with a theme just yet, she and Roach still brought stunning looks to the red carpet.
At the film’s L.A. premiere, Zendaya wore a pink Ralph & Russo gown, Casadei heels and Bulgari jewels. At a photocall in Madrid, Spain, she sported a blue Jonathan Simkhai dress and Rihanna x Manolo Blahnik heels. See more of her Spider-Man: Homecoming press tour looks here.
‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’
For the Los Angeles premiere of 2021’s Space Jam: A New Legacy, Zendaya knew she had one moment to make a statement and she left it all on the table (or the red carpet, so to speak).
The actress didn’t do a ton of press for this live-action/animated hybrid film, so she really made the premiere a moment with a colorful look, channeling Lola Bunny, the character she voiced. Zendaya wore a colorblock ensemble that featured a jacket and short shorts by Moschino. She paired it with Bulgari small hoop earrings and rings, as well as white stiletto heels.
‘Euphoria’
The premieres for Euphoria — the hit HBO show that earned Zendaya her first two Emmys and cemented her status as a serious dramatic actress post-Disney — really highlight her style evolution over the years.
While there’s not a set theme for her looks, as there weren’t lengthy global press tours for each of the show’s seasons, she still managed to serve on the carpet. For season one in 2019, Zendaya went for a more innocent look with a white, spaghetti-strap mini dress, featuring a sheer ruffle detail, from the Nina Ricci Fall 2019 collection. She paired it with white Le Silla heels.
Fast forward to 2022, and Zendaya delivered an edgier look at the season two premiere, similar to the show’s second installment. She wore a vintage Valentino black-and-white striped form-fitting dress. And more recently, at the season three premiere in 2026, the actress stepped out in a much more mature look from Ashi Studio. The deep brown sleeveless halter dress featured a high neckline, low back and flowy train.
‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’
For the Spider-Man: Far from Home press tour in 2019, Zendaya brought her own version of the famed superhero to the red carpet.
Though she plays MJ, Peter Parker’s romantic interest in the film franchise, the actress channeled Spider-Man himself at the Los Angeles premiere, sporting a geometric red and black sequin Armani gown. She paired the dress with black Christian Louboutin “So Kate” pumps (which have become her signature red carpet shoe). “If Spider-Man were a girl, this would be her Spidey suit or her uniform,” Roach previously told THR of the look.
As for the London photo call at the Tower of London, Zendaya stood on business in a chic, structured Alexandre Vauthier suit, paired with a white button-down shirt and black Christian Louboutin pumps. She also tied the look all together with red hair, a nod to Peter Parker’s favorite color.
‘The Greatest Showman’
The press tour for 2017’s The Greatest Showman was really the first time Zendaya fully leaned into cohesive themed looks for the red carpet. She and Roach went the whimsical route, inspired by the movie’s circus and ethereal creatures.
Some of the most memorable outfits include a custom Moschino monarch butterfly dress designed by Jeremy Scott, paired with black strappy heels, for the Australian premiere. At the film’s premiere in Mexico City, the actress sported a ringmaster-inspired look from Ralph Lauren Collection. It featured a red tuxedo jacket, black tuxedo trousers and a white collared shirt, paired with black pumps.
Lastly, but certainly not least, Zendaya stunned at the world premiere in New York City in a black and red tiered tulle ball gown from the Viktor & Rolf Spring 2018 collection.
‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’
Zendaya was really channeling her Spidey-senses for the Spider-Man: No Way Home press tour in 2021. The Emmy winner stepped in multiple looks that featured spiderweb motifs — it doesn’t get much more on brand than that.
At the world premiere in Los Angeles, she left everyone speechless (even Holland, as seen in an interview with Entertainment Tonight) once she arrived, wearing a sheer, beige custom Valentino gown covered in black spiderweb embroidery. She also paired it with a spiderweb-designed lace mask and Christian Louboutin pumps.
Zendaya brought more spiderwebs to the London photo call with her menswear-inspired Alexander McQueen outfit. The look included an oversized gray blazer embellished with a crystal spiderweb-like design and thigh-high black boots with the same embellishments. She also wore spiderweb earrings.
‘Dune: Part One’
If Zendaya’s Dune: Part One red carpet outfits had your jaw on the floor (truthfully, mine was), just wait until we get to Part Two. But first, let’s take a moment to appreciate the high-fashion looks that kicked off the film franchise’s promotions.
The actress and Roach were fully committed to the movie’s desert and warrior themes with her attire during the 2021 press run. At the Venice Film Festival premiere, she walked the carpet in a custom, wet-look Balmain gown. The dress’s sand-colored leather was molded to her body for a sculpted, draped effect.
When Zendaya attended the Paris photocall at Le Grand Rex, she wore a plum two-piece Maison Alaïa look that featured a knitted, backless top and a matching pencil skirt with an extravagant fur hem. At the Dune U.K. Special Screening in London, she arrived in a Rick Owens sculptural sequin cream-colored gown that felt quite sci-fi inspired.
‘Challengers’
Zendaya is used to bringing the heat to the screen rather than the court, but that doesn’t mean she can’t shut down a red carpet with some Tennis-inspired looks when needed. And it was absolutely needed (and wanted by her fans) during the press tour for Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers.
The actress started on a high note at the Australian premiere with a look that screamed tenniscore: a custom Loewe gown designed by Jonathan Anderson — who costumed the film — that featured a tennis player and ball motif. Zendaya continued the theme at the London premiere with a white sequined country club-esque halter dress by Thom Browne that also featured a tennis racket motif. As for the Los Angeles premiere, though the actress stepped away from tenniscore for a moment, she still served in a Vera Wang black-and-pink gown.
Some other honorable mentions that also deserve to be highlighted below include the archival look by Vivienne Westwood from the Spring/Summer 1994 “Café Society” ready-to-wear collection, a custom silver-colored Loewe tennis dress and a retro-chic mini dress from the Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs archives.
‘The Drama’
Zendaya had a specific theme in mind going into The Drama press tour. With the dark romantic comedy/psychological thriller being centered on a wedding that goes wrong, the actress chose to stun in several bridal-inspired looks that align with the wedding tradition of “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.”
The actress kicked things off with “something old” at the L.A. premiere, sporting a white Vivienne Westwood gown that she previously wore at the 2015 Academy Awards. Next came “something new,” and she wore a custom Louis Vuitton dress that featured an oversized black bow in the back at the Paris premiere. As for “something borrowed,” Cate Blanchett loaned Zendaya a black dress made custom by Giorgio Armani Privé for the film’s Rome premiere. Lastly, but certainly not least, she stunned at the New York premiere in a black and blue Schiaparelli gown to complete her method dressing streak with “something blue.”
‘Dune: Part Two’
It’s safe to say that some of Zendaya’s looks during the Dune: Part Two press tour will definitely be remembered for decades to come. At every event for the film, she kept everyone stunned, delivering futuristic sci-fi and desert-chic looks that fully highlighted the film’s mood and themes.
At the New York premiere, she wore a cream-colored gown with gold detailing at the hem, designed by Stéphane Rolland couture. One of Zendaya’s most daring and iconic looks to date was at the London premiere, where she sported an archival 1995 Thierry Mugler chrome cyborg suit.
The actress’ method dressing continued at the premiere in Mexico City, wearing a custom Bottega Veneta two-piece look that featured a cropped wool flannel turtleneck and matching high-slit skirt. Then at a photo call in London, she turned heads in a “pre-runway” ensemble from Roksanda that featured a three-piece dark plum suit. See more memorable looks from the Dune: Part Two press tour here.

Zendaya is booked and busy this year, with three more projects on the way: Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three. And it’s safe to say I’m already sat at the dinner table, waiting for which stunning looks she’s going to feed everyone with next.
