Sandbox Clinic opens its doors to Cebuanos for specialized care

Sandbox Clinic Cebu and Sandbox Clinic Prime Cebu officially opened on June 7, 2026 at the 15th Floor of Latitude Corporate Center in Cebu City, Cebu, marking the clinic’s expansion into the Central Visayas and strengthening access to specialized pediatric, adult, and sports rehabilitation and other specialized health services in the region.

The grand opening gathered healthcare professionals, partners, families, and community members to celebrate the arrival of the rehabilitation center’s first Visayas branch, a move that brings multidisciplinary care closer to patients in Cebu and neighboring provinces.

The event began with a curtain-drop ceremony unveiling the Sandbox Clinic’s “Boy in Swing” sculpture at the entrance, which is a representation of every person, child or adult, being supported in a safe space where growth, healing, independence, and joy remain possible at every stage of life.

The unveiling was followed by a symbolic sand-pouring ceremony, prayer, and blessing of the facility.

In her welcome message, Camille Abigail “Abby” Mercado, MSOT, OTRP, President & CEO of Sapphire Clinics South Incorporated described the new facility as the fulfillment of a long-held goal of creating a healthcare space centered on accessibility, compassion, and holistic care.

“Today marks more than the opening of a new clinic. It marks the realization of a shared vision—to create a place where individuals and families can access quality, compassionate, and multidisciplinary healthcare services that empower them to reach their fullest potential,” she shared.

Guests were then given guided tours of the two centers, which were designed to address the needs of different patient groups while sharing the same goal of helping individuals achieve better quality of life through evidence-based care.

Designed for every stage of life

While both facilities operate under the Sapphire Clinics Incorporated, Sandbox Clinic Cebu and Sandbox Clinic Prime Cebu serve distinct patient groups.

Sandbox Clinic Cebu focuses primarily on pediatric care, occupational therapy (OT), speech therapy/speech language pathology (SLP), physical therapy (PT), special education (SPED), feeding therapy, and other developmental interventions tailored for children.

The facility houses specialized rooms designed to support children’s learning and development, including a SPED room for small group classes, a feeding room, a gross motor room for mobility exercises, a sensory gym, isolation rooms, and a multipurpose room.

Sandbox Clinic has built its reputation through pediatric rehabilitation programs that help children with developmental needs improve communication, movement, learning, and daily living skills.

Meanwhile, Sandbox Clinic Prime Cebu caters more to adults, senior citizens, and athletes requiring rehabilitation and recovery services. Its programs include strength and conditioning training, rest and recovery, body recomposition, post-surgical rehabilitation, orthopedic care, sports physical therapy, and neurorehabilitation.

The clinic has a medical doctor’s consultation room, private treatment rooms, a traction room equipped with rehabilitation technology, a speech-language pathology room, and a gym fitted with advanced exercise equipment designed for recovery and physical conditioning.

Together, the two centers create a continuum of care that supports patients across different stages of life, from childhood interventions to adult rehabilitation and healthy aging.

Expanding a mission beyond Metro Manila

The Cebu expansion marks a significant milestone for Sandbox Clinic, which has established operations in Metro Manila and Central Luzon through its branches in BGC, Taguig City and Clark, Pampanga.
