Person seriously injured after car hits shopping centre in Auckland

A person has been seriously injured when a car hit the Red Beach shopping centre in northern Auckland.

Police said emergency services were at the scene and the injured person was being treated there.

Fire and Emergency says they were called at 12.26pm, two fire trucks went to the scene and assisted police and ambulance, they have now left the scene.

Hato Hone St John sent one rapid response unit, one ambulance and one operations manager.

Police say there will be delays on Red Beach Road and are asking people to avoid the area.
