CALASIAO, Pangasinan – Five workers of a solar farm construction company died Tuesday night while several others were injured when the mini-dump truck they were riding in plunged off a mountain trail into a ravine in Labrador town in Pangasinan.
According to Labrador police chief Capt. John Ramos’ report, the driver of the dump truck allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to a brake system malfunction. This caused the vehicle to rapidly descend the trail and sideswipe a pickup truck that was also traversing the mountain road.
The pickup truck skidded into the road shoulder, with the driver unhurt.
