
MANILA, Philippines – The Visayas grid has been placed under yellow alert on Wednesday due to the unavailability of three power facilities, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said.
In an advisory, the grid operator said the grid would be under the alert status from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

In a yellow alert, the power supply can still meet demand, but it will serve as a warning that when a plant breaks down one way or another, it will result in brownouts.
It said the Visayas grid’s available capacity was 2,550 megawatts (MW), while the peak demand reached 2,478 MW. /pai INQ
