A patient has died and three people were taken to hospital after an ambulance was involved in a crash with a car.
Police were called to the scene of the smash on Balmore Road in Glasgow at about 21:00 on Tuesday.
Police Scotland said the patient who was in the ambulance later died in hospital "following a medical matter". Two ambulance workers and a student paramedic were injured.
A spokesperson added that the 49-year-old male driver of the car was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and inquiries were ongoing.
The Scottish Ambulance Service said one of its ambulances was heading to Glasgow Royal Infirmary when the crash happened.
The patient on board was then taken to the hospital by another ambulance.
Two Scottish Ambulance Service workers were transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, and a student paramedic was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
