Iconic Maltese band Chasing Pandora have released their latest EP, Paper Skin, a four-track collection that explores the changing seasons of life, love and human connection through introspective songwriting and cinematic storytelling.
Released on 18th June, Paper Skin takes listeners on a journey through the different stages of life, with each track representing a season and reflecting the emotions, experiences and personal growth that accompany the passage of time.
Across its four songs, the EP explores themes of longing, self-discovery, connection and loss.
Leading the release is Forget Me Not, a track centred on the desire for renewal and the search for a fresh start. The song captures a longing for connection while embracing the idea of surrendering to something greater than oneself.
The EP opens with Daydreamer, an uplifting track driven by curiosity, ambition and the pursuit of new experiences. Ink and Paper follows with a more reflective perspective, exploring how self-discovery and personal growth can bring greater clarity and understanding.
Closing the release is Disappear, a contemplative track that represents winter in the EP’s seasonal narrative. Marked by a sense of quiet acceptance, the song reflects on endings, fading relationships and the gradual loss of people, memories and parts of ourselves over time.
Hailing from Gozo, the band first broke onto the local music scene with Feel the Rain in 2006. Chasing Pandora’s formative years were shaped under the guidance of acclaimed producer and manager Steve Brown, whose distinguished career included a long-standing partnership with Elton John.
Nearly two decades on, the band continue to evolve while remaining faithful to the melodic songwriting and emotional depth that have defined their music from the very beginning.
