
CEBU CITY, Philippines — An 18-year-old out-of-school youth was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Sambag II, Cebu City on Wednesday evening, June 17.
The suspect, identified as alias “Leo,” is a resident of Sitio Upper Kawayan in Barangay Sambag II.
Personnel of Abellana Police Station of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) arrested the teenager during an anti-illegal drug operation conducted in the same area where he resides.

Shabu seized
Police said they recovered four small packets containing suspected shabu from the suspect during the operation.
Authorities also confiscated P200 worth of marked money used in the buy-bust.
As of Thursday, June 18, police had yet to disclose the estimated value of the illegal drugs seized from the suspect.
Parents unaware
Police said the suspect’s family later went to the police station following his arrest.
According to authorities, the teenager’s parents said they were unaware that their son had allegedly been involved in the illegal drug trade.
Police said the family believed that alias “Leo” merely spent his time loitering around the neighborhood.
They only learned of his alleged activities after he was arrested.

Charges being prepared
Authorities said alias “Leo” is an out-of-school youth and a resident of the area where the buy-bust operation was carried out.
Police are preparing complaints for selling and possession of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
As of Thursday, the suspect remains detained at Abellana Police Station while the charges against him are being prepared.
