
MANILA, Philippines – Ayala Land formalized the donation of 63 hectares in Sicogon Island, Iloilo, fulfilling commitments to farmers and fisherfolk affected by the island’s tourism project.
In a statement, the property giant said its subsidiary, Sicogon Island Tourism Estate Corp. (SITEC) donated 63 hectares of residential and agricultural land to Federation of Sicogon Island Farmers and Fisherfolk Association (FESIFFA) members.
The donation forms part of the amended Compromise and Framework Agreement governing the development of Sicogon Island in Carles, Iloilo.

ALI said the donated land will provide beneficiaries with housing and long-term livelihood opportunities on the island.

The turnover fulfills a key commitment under the amended agreement and supports ongoing housing, livelihood and community development efforts.
As part of the event, SITEC released the remaining P29 million budget earmarked for the construction of beneficiary families’ homes.
Meanwhile, ALI added it had completed several major commitments under the agreement since its amendment in 2021.
These include the 33 hectares of residential land donation, turnover of 33 hectares of agricultural land, and the P38 million livelihood assistance released in 2024.

ALI said it released P256 million for land development and housing, supporting 784 homes under the agreement.
“These milestones reflect the progress that can be achieved through sustained collaboration among communities, government, and the private sector,” said Cris Zuluaga, head of Ayala Land Leisure Estates. “The formalization of the land donation is an important step in providing greater certainty for beneficiary families as they continue to build their communities in Sicogon Island.”

Over the years, the Sicogon initiative reflects years of collaboration to address land, housing, livelihood and development issues on the island.
ALI said it would continue working with FESIFFA, the DAR and local governments to fulfill its remaining obligations under the agreement. /pai INQ
