MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano on Thursday clapped back against colleagues slamming him for constantly broadcasting on Facebook rather than facing them and the media at the Senate in person.
During another Facebook live broadcast, Cayetano questioned why several senators — particularly Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Erwin Tulfo and Raffy Tulfo — were supposedly bothered by his constant livestreams when they themselves also actively take advantage of the platform.

“They also use Facebook,” said Cayetano, who pointed out how Lacson himself has dedicated staff to capture photos and videos of him for posting on social media.

“Everyone is aware that it’s not only mainstream, there’s also social media. Why are you so angry when I go on Facebook?” he added.
Cayetano even attributed the other senators’ alleged annoyance with his broadcasts to the number of views he gets, explaining that he keeps garnering thousands of views because he is “telling the truth.”
The former Senate president in the same broadcast then accused Lacson and the Tulfo brothers as “being good at creating intrigue,” accusing them of supposedly taking turns to spread false information against him.
“They’re really good at creating intrigue. They just take turns—Raffy Tulfo, Erwin Tulfo, Senator Panfilo Lacson,” said Cayetano.

He said this in response to Lacson’s recent claims that the Senate “wasted” an estimated P700 million during the 28 days that he served as Senate president.
“It’s basically a tag-team effort: one takes a turn provoking Alan, another spreads false information, another spreads this or that,” he added. /mr
