Single voice needed to represent Europe says foreign minister

The European Union should choose a

special envoy to represent it in possible talks with Russia to

end the war in Ukraine, Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister

Antonio Tajani said on Thursday.

"We need a single special envoy for Europe (in any negotiations

with Russia)," Tajani said at a press briefing after the EPP

meeting ahead of the EU summit.

"That person must be chosen by all 27; we need a single voice

representing Europe".

There has been talk of former European Central Bank President

and former Italian premier Mario Draghi taking the role.
