Tracy Letts (A House of Dynamite), John Gallagher Jr. (10 Cloverfield Lane), Lola Kirke (Sinners) and Colton Ryan (The Girl From Plainville) are among 14 actors rounding out the recurring cast joining Netflix and Sony Pictures Television’s The God of the Woods, a TV series adaptation of the bestselling novel by Liz Moore.
Additional names include Camila Canó-Flaviá (Three Women), Tristan Leander Green (The Bard), Cliff Chamberlain (Homeland), Lynden Miles Ley (Birth/Rebirth), Dannie McCallum (Echo), Andrew Polk (Daredevil), Chris Henry Coffey (The Madness), David Furr (The Gilded Age), Joseph Adams (The Wretched Devours) and Brooklyn Shuck (Evil).
From writers, executive producers and co-showrunners Liz Hannah and Moore, The God of the Woods is a multi-generational drama series set in the Adirondacks, exploring the Van Laar family’s dark secrets, class tensions, and the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of 13-year-old Barbara Van Laar from her family’s summer camp — in the wake of an earlier family tragedy that may be related. As the past and present collide, the Van Laars’ wealth and influence unravel, revealing the damaging consequences of privilege and the abuse of power.
The previously announced series regulars include Maya Hawke, Kerry Condon, Ella Rubin, Damon Gupton, Susannah Perkins, Benjamin Walker, Nell Fisher, and Autumn Molina.
Details regarding the new recurring casting’s roles can be found below.
Letts plays Peter Van Laar II, an older, wealthier, seemingly kinder version of his son (Benjamin Walker), but something potentially disturbing lurks beneath his façade.

Cano-Flavia plays Donna Romano, Green plays Lee Towson, Chamberlain plays Carl Stoddard, Ley plays Bear Van Laar, McCallum plays Jeannie Clute, Polk plays Clovis Goldman, Coffey plays Sergeant Jimmy Dagle, Furr plays John Paul McLellan Sr., Adams plays Vic Hewitt, and Shuck plays Annabel.
