Fox Entertainment’s creator studio, which was formed earlier this year, has revealed details about a significant expansion of its slate.
The unit revealed a slate of new formats spanning long-form entertainment and short-form scripted and unscripted series. The Fox Creator Studios roster already included well-established names like chef Gordon Ramsay and comedian Tom Segura. It is now adding creators Josh Richards, Emelia Hartford, Speeed Co, Sorted Food, MyHealthyDish, Mad Realities, and Christina Richardson., who collectively have more than 65 million followers across platforms.
The aim of the creator initiative, which is a notably more aggressive push than similar efforts at Fox’s traditional media rivals, aims to leverage ties with the audience and brand relationships of creators. It is also a seedbed where new voices can be developed. Under these new partnerships, Fox will help creators develop premium intellectual property, expand into new formats, and build their brands by taking advantage of Fox’s ad sales, brand partnership, global distribution, and production capabilities.
The projects under each creator’s umbrella are in active production and development, Fox said.
“Fox Creator Studios was built around a simple idea: the most exciting entertainment businesses today are being built directly around audience relationships,” FCS chief Billy Parks said in a statement. “We’re partnering with creators who already understand their audience, already have momentum, and are building real businesses around their ideas. Our role is to help scale what’s already working – whether that’s through production, financing, advertising, distribution, brand partnerships or new formats – and help these creators build the next generation of global entertainment brands.”
