Body found after search for Tauranga missing man

Police have found a body in the search for a missing man in Tauranga.

The body was found by officers off the Pahoia Peninsula on Thursday evening.

While a formal identification process is underway, the body is believed to be that of 56-year-old man Aaron Franklin, who was reported missing earlier this month.

Police have been in contact with the man's family and are providing them the necessary support.
