Members gathered at Ombria Golf Course, in Loulé, on June 17 for another enjoyable day of golf, although the conditions proved challenging with temperatures soaring throughout the day. Despite the intense heat, the 20 players took to the course with great enthusiasm and were rewarded with some impressive scores.
The hot weather did little to dampen the competitive spirit, with several players producing excellent rounds. The day’s winning score was a fantastic 40 points, achieved by Steve Thorley, who took first place with a strong and consistent performance. Paul Graham secured second place with a very respectable 37 points.
The competition continued with the popular nearest-the-pin challenge on hole 7, which saw Mark Dellow claim the prize with an accurate shot that landed him closest to the pin.
A delicious buffet lunch was provided by the Ombria club house kitchen.
The event was enjoyed by all who took part, with members appreciating the excellent condition of the course and the welcoming atmosphere at Ombria.
The golf days continue to be a great opportunity for players of all abilities to enjoy a friendly but competitive round while meeting fellow golfers.
Ombria Golf Course continues to welcome new players who would like to join future events. Whether you are an experienced golfer or returning to the game, everyone is encouraged to come along, enjoy the course, and become part of the friendly golfing community.
The next gathering will take place in September, when members will once again come together for another enjoyable day on the fairways. Everyone is looking forward to the next event and welcoming new faces to join the group.
