Second day of final high-school exams for over 500,000 pupils

Latin for classical high school students, maths for scientific pupils

After Thursday's Italian test, the

'maturità' high-school final exams continued for around 537,000

pupils in Italy on Friday.

The subject of the second exam changes on the basis of the type

of school, with classical high-school students facing a test in

Latin and pupils from scientific high schools asked to show

their capabilities in maths.

In the the Latin test students were asked to translate a text by

Quintilian on pedagogy and rhetoric.

The maths test featured a problems on the water levels of Lake

Bracciano and one on functions.
