Woman injured after telegraph pole falls on her

A woman has been seriously injured after being trapped underneath a fallen telegraph pole in a train station car park.

South Wales Police said officers were called at about 12:50 BST on Thursday to Pontyclun train station after reports that two women had become trapped.

The pair were taken to the University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff, for medical treatment. One of the women has since been discharged from hospital.

The police said they were in discussion with the Health and Safety Executive regarding the investigation into the incident.
