One person has been killed and another seriously injured following an attack by gunmen at Sabon Gidan Kanar in Gyel District of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The attack, which occurred on Thursday night, led to the death of one Mr. Shedrack Dalyop, 36, of Kuru District, while Mr. Mang Davou, 32, of Gyel District sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment.
There was a similar attack in the same area few days ago, which claimed one life and left another person hospitalised.
It also occurred four days after an attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, also in Jos South, during which some security personnel were killed.

Reacting to the incident, the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM), led by Barrister Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, said the attacks highlight the worsening security situation facing residents of the area
“BYM calls on Operation Enduring Peace and other security agencies to immediately investigate the attack, arrest the perpetrators, and ensure they are brought to justice.
“The Association extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Shedrack Dalyop and prays for the speedy recovery of Mr. Mang Davou.
“We urge residents to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding while security agencies take decisive action to address the worsening security situation.
“The continued targeting and killing of innocent citizens must not be allowed to persist,” the association said.
Calls and messages put to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Plateau State Command, Alfred Alabo, were not responded to, as of the time of filling this report.
