
The Premier League has released the full fixture list for the 2026/27 season, confirming the dates and matchups for all 380 games, with several Nigerian internationals discovering when their campaigns will begin.
Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka’s Coventry City will mark their return to the Premier League with a trip to the Emirates Stadium to face reigning champions Arsenal on Friday, August 21.
Manchester United, meanwhile, will open their campaign away at Hull City’s MKM Stadium on Saturday, August 22, a fixture that could mark Semi Ajayi’s return to top-flight football. The experienced defender last featured in the Premier League during his spell at West Bromwich Albion before their relegation.
Elsewhere on the opening Saturday, Chuba Akpom’s Ipswich Town begin life back in the top flight at home to Sunderland.
Nottingham Forest will start their campaign against Leeds United at the City Ground, with Super Eagles duo Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina both in contention to feature, Awoniyi looking to continue his strong end to last season and Aina aiming to regain full fitness after missing the final four matches of the previous campaign.
Kaye Furo’s Brentford will also open their season on August 22, hosting Tottenham Hotspur at the Gtech Community Stadium in what promises to be a closely fought contest.
On Sunday, August 23, highly rated youngster Zadok Yohanna could make his Premier League debut as Brighton and Hove Albion welcome Aston Villa to the Amex Stadium.
The Super Eagles pair of Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey will begin their campaign with Fulham when they host Tosin Adarabioyo’s Chelsea on Monday, August 24, at Craven Cottage.
