Amid his misunderstanding with his adoptive sisters Lotlot and Matet de Leon, Ian de Leon asserted that he would be fair to his siblings regarding the inheritance left by their late mother, Superstar Nora Aunor.
Ian spoke about the current rift between him and his sisters as well as the one-person corporation (OPC) he founded to manage Aunor’s legacy, during his “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview on Friday, June 19.
The matter was discussed after show host Abunda asked if Ian is the “sole heir to the estate of Nora Aunor.”

“Legally speaking—again, this does not exclude any family members—if there are any legalities that have to be resolved after Mom has passed, under the law, yes, I am,” he reiterated.

The actor stressed that he informed his siblings about the OPC when they gathered on the 40th day after Aunor’s death. He also said there was no truth to Matet’s statement that she was unaware of his plans, noting that she had supposedly even attended two online meetings where the matter was discussed.
“[The OPC] was still a concept during that time. I wanted them to be involved with the plans that I had to continue Mom’s legacy,” he stated. “I think nung time na ‘yun, they weren’t ready. But I told them that I would pursue this and I’m willing for everyone to be onboard.”
“This is not for me. It’s for mom. You know, people have to understand that it’s for her legacy, the continuation of her legacy,” he added.
Ian then pointed out that every family experiences misunderstandings, saying he will let time resolve the rift between him and his siblings. He nonetheless noted that while he is not in speaking terms with Lotlot and Matet, he has constant communication with his adoptive brothers Kenneth and Kiko.

Inheritance
During the interview, show host Abunda cited speculations that the falling-out between the siblings might have something to do with the division of the inheritance.
Responding to this, Ian clarified, “I just want to set the record straight here—things take time. It’s not like your mother passes today, the next week may mana na. Everything has to be dealt with legally.”
“One reason why I decided to pursue this (OPC) is because I don’t want Mom’s name to be used freely, loosely by anyone who does things for their own personal gain,” he explained.
Abunda further delved into the matter as he asked, “Nasa puso mo ba Ian na kung ano man ang meron, you will be fair to your siblings?”
The actor answered, “Of course. Definitely. I will just do the things that need to be done right now.”
