
One person was hospitalised after a structure fire broke out in St Julian’s late last night.
The Civil Protection Department said it responded to the incident at around 11:30pm, with firefighters from Fire Station 11 deployed to the scene.
Emergency crews successfully localised and extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading further.
During the operation, both directions of Triq Gort were temporarily closed to allow firefighters and other emergency responders to work safely until the situation was brought under control.
The individual was taken to hospital after suffering smoke inhalation. No further information on their condition was immediately available.
The Civil Protection Department thanked the Emergency Department at Mater Dei Hospital, the Malta Police Force and Transport Malta for their assistance during the operation.
