Renowned Nepali comedian Khem Sharma, popularly known as ‘Chature’, passed away in the United States on Friday morning. He breathed his last at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore at around 8 pm local time.
Artist and model Manish Sharma, who was present at the hospital, said Sharma died while undergoing treatment. According to him, Sharma was admitted to Towson Hospital on Wednesday after experiencing health complications and was later referred to Franklin Square Hospital.
Actor Shivahari Paudyal, who worked with Sharma in several television serials, also confirmed his death. In a Facebook post, Paudyal expressed grief over the loss of a close friend.
Sharma had been living in the United States with his family for many years. He appeared in numerous films and television productions throughout his career. He was especially known for his popular television serial Chatureko Daupech, which earned him widespread recognition among Nepali audiences.
