BOHOL, PHILIPPINES — South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection, Bohol’s first international luxury resort, has been shortlisted in four categories at the AHEAD Awards 2026: Resort, Spa & Wellness, Sustainability, and Event Spaces, making it the most-nominated Philippine property this year.
AHEAD, organised by industry publication Sleeper, is the only global awards programme dedicated to hospitality experience and design, recognising new hotels and resorts alongside the architects and designers behind them.
The recognition places South Palms among Asia’s most innovative hotel designs. Four nominations in a single cycle is no small feat. It puts a concept built on Boholano craft, heritage, and storytelling alongside hospitality’s most compelling design narratives.
The resort’s architecture was conceived by leading designers including Patricia Ho of White Jacket and Philip Pond of Atelier Pond, who drew inspiration from Bohol’s folklore, landscapes and coastal traditions. Their vision blends contemporary resort design with local storytelling, creating spaces that flow naturally through tropical gardens and beachfront scenery while celebrating the island’s cultural identity.
The concept came together through a wider collaboration with some of the region’s most respected names in hospitality architecture and design, among them C9 Hotelworks, Enter Projects Asia, Rchitects Inc., SCSY Architects, Topo Design Studio, and XCO2.
