
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday, Father’s Day, reminisced about his father, the late former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., and the lessons he taught him.
“Remembering my father today. No matter how much time passes, there are some lessons a son never outgrows,” Marcos wrote on Facebook.
“My father taught me the value of duty, the importance of perseverance and the conviction that our lives are measured by what we give of ourselves in service to others,” he said.

“For those lessons and for his love, I remain deeply grateful,” he added.

Marcos also honored all other fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers and father figures “whose love, sacrifice and presence help shape the lives of their children and the future of our nation.”

Meanwhile, first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and their children Sandro, Simon and Vinny issued an “Official Presidential Father’s Day Executive Order,” calling on Marcos to take a break from work.
They ordered him to observe a “period of well-deserved rest,” to cancel all “non-essential meetings and stressful discussions, and to cap the special day with a mandatory dessert. /das /atm
