
COTABATO CITY — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) in Banga, South Cotabato, confirmed Sunday the rescue of a juvenile Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus).
Maria Elvira Lumayag, OIC regional executive director of DENR-12, said personnel from DENR-CENRO Banga received the Brahminy Kite from officials of Barangay San Vicente on Saturday.

As part of the agency’s wildlife rescue and conservation efforts, the juvenile raptor was transferred to the Regional Wildlife Rescue Center-Region 12 (RWRC-12) in Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat, for further evaluation, proper care, and rehabilitation.

The RWRC-12 serves as a temporary refuge for rescued, surrendered, and confiscated wildlife species in the region.
