Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Tourism Minister Ni Luh Puspa urged tourism operators in Dieng, Central Java, to strengthen services, safety measures and destination management ahead of the June-July school holiday season.
Puspa called on destination managers, homestay operators and other tourism stakeholders to provide high-quality services to ensure visitors enjoy safe, comfortable and sustainable travel experiences.
During a visit on Saturday, she inspected several attractions in Dieng Kulon Tourism Village, including Sikidang Crater, Telaga Warna Lake and the Arjuna Temple Complex.
The visit aimed to help ensure tourism operators and local authorities are prepared to deliver safe, comfortable and quality experiences for holiday travelers.
Local authorities estimate tourist arrivals during the June-July school holiday period will reach about 34,020 visits.
“Quality tourism must be our shared goal. It is not only about attractive destinations but also responsible and sustainable management,” Puspa said.
She also encouraged local governments and tourism managers to coordinate with police to strengthen security measures at tourist sites and traffic-prone areas.
Located on the border of Wonosobo and Banjarnegara districts, Dieng is among Central Java’s most popular destinations during school holidays.
The highland region is known for its distinctive scenery and cool temperatures, which attract visitors throughout the year.
From late May through June, low temperatures in Dieng can produce Bun Upas, a rare frost phenomenon that has become a unique attraction for domestic tourists.
