The first general convention of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has kicked off at the Guesthouse Ground of Bharatpur city in Chitwan as per the schedule.
Party president Rabi Lamichhane and Prime Minister and senior leader Balendra Shah are present at the inaugural function of the general convention. RSP office bearers, central leaders and convention representatives are attending the event.
President of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Kumar Thapa; CPN-UML leader Pradeep Kumar Gyawali; Nepali Communist Party leader Barshaman Pun; and chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Rajendra Lingden are attending the inaugural session. Together in the inauguration are former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai; chairperson of the Janata Samajbadi Party, Upendra Yadav; chairman of the Janmat Party, Chandrakant Raut; and other leaders. RSP has informed that as many as 4,211 representatives are attending the first general convention.
Party president Lamichhane and senior leader and Prime Minister Shah are jointly inaugurating the convention by ringing the party symbol ‘Bell’.
