The Command said the arrests followed credible intelligence received on June 9, 2026, regarding the unlawful possession and sale of public utilities.
Operatives of the Central Police Station (CPS), Katsina, deployed to the area, lead the arrest and subsequent transfer of three principal suspects to the State Headquarters for further investigation.
The suspects were identified as Hassan Ibrahim, 30; Lawal Ibrahim, 31; and Abubakar Sani, 31.

Investigations revealed that electric cables in Bugaje village had collapsed about six months earlier due to weather conditions and were recovered and secured by community authorities pending official action.
However, the suspects allegedly conspired to remove some of the cables and sold them without authorisation.
The Command further disclosed that the stolen materials were channelled through Umar Isa, 35, who sold them to Ibrahim Rabiu, 27.
The suspects reportedly confessed to selling the items on five occasions, amounting to ₦300,000.
During the operation, police also recovered 10 iron doors suspected to have been removed from the Barawa Housing Estate, along with electrical cables, power line components, insulators, connectors, and a scrap transformer.
The suspects allegedly confessed and named seven accomplices who were currently at large, with efforts ongoing to apprehend them.
Reacting, the Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage, warned against vandalism and theft of public property, describing such acts as detrimental to public development and safety.
He assured residents of the Command’s commitment to safeguarding public assets and urged the public to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
The suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
